Mental Health Rights are Human Rights

Talisman Foundation were honoured to unveil a plaque from The Democratic Alliance in loving memory of the victims of Life Esidimeni and a pledge to never again let the rights of mental health care users be denied. Musi Maimane, the leader of the DA, attended a tour of our facility along with the shadow MEC for Health, Jack Bloom and other DA members. The tour highlighted the work we do and our residents talked about their experiences of mental health and living in an NGO.

We are so proud of our residents and the struggles they overcome. We hope that one day all people that experience mental health conditions will receive the care and treatment they need.
